Passion for Sweatpants and Sequins

Happy Saturday darlings! One of the greatest things about living in Greece is the sunshine nearly all year round and yes we are very close to December and still can enjoy the wonderful weather. To share some inspiration with you, I have chosen a quote from Pablo Picasso with whom I am very proud to share the same birth date (25th October), as he used to say " Everything you can imagine is real."
For this casual look I decided to combine my new Ambercrombie & Fitch sweatpants which I recently purchased in New York with a sequin denim shirt and comfy black Dolce & Gabbana sneakers. Sport Chic is big this fall and sweatpants get a luxe upgrade. What do you think of this trend? Until next time, let’s get comfortable. xoxo ES

Passion for Miami Day 3

My last day in Miami was dedicated to exploring this place a little bit more, heading out of South Beach and into the center. We were recommended the City Tour and Boat Cruise which is the most complete tour of all of Miami (approximately 5 hours). It was exciting to drive around Miami’s most scenic land-bound spots including Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Little Havana and Calle Ocho known as America's cigar central, and there is no other place quite like it in the world of cigar making where you can actually see cigars being made (I have managed to make a short video of this process which I will be sharing with you soon). The tour then continued to Brickell Avenue and then to Downtown Miami to board the Boat Cruise.

Once we boarded the Island Queen Cruises we passed through Biscayne Bay where you can see the entire downtown Miami skyline, the Port of Miami – with the cruise ship and cargo districts, Fisher Island, and then Millionaire’s Row – the homes of the rich and famous. A few names that own properties on this Star Island are: Puff Daddy, Diddy, and P. Diddy, Dr Phillip Frost – referred to as being Florida’s biggest drug dealers and one of the co-makers of Viagra, Charles Parker of the Parker pen and pencil corporation, Elizabeth Taylor, Vladislav Doronin, Sylvester Stallone and many more. This was definitely an experience of a lifetime, just like in the movies. Stay tuned for more videos of the trip. Until next time! xoxo ES

Passion for Miami Day 2

Ocean Drive, during my time spent on South Beach I have walked this path numerous times, and there is always something exciting happening right there at that moment. On the second night we decided to start with dinner and drinks in a Cuban restaurant called Havana 1957 which was excellent. It was the first time I tried Cuban cuisine and it was delicious. For more hotel and restaurant recommendations and reviews, just visit Passion for Hospitality, you will find plenty of helpful information there. Until next time, enjoy darlings! xoxo ES

Passion for Miami Day 1 - Part II

A change of outfit, a pair of heels and we are ready to welcome the night in Miami! Cucumber cocktails for a start and later dinner at one of Miami’s hottest restaurants A Fish Called Avalon located at the Avalon Hotel on Ocean Drive. This restaurant showcases contemporary tropical cuisine, with the freshest ingredients harvested from sea and land. So if you are in Miami Beach and looking for exceptional fresh seafood with a touch of tropics, this is the place to be. Enjoy your Saturday night loves, wherever you are. Until next time. xoxo ES

Passion for Miami Day 1

Welcome to Miami, Bienvenido a Miami… these Will Smith lyrics kept on playing in my head all along. This was my first time in Miami and this place definitely screams party that lasts till dawn. Here Happy Hours start at 8 am and those Mega Cocktails are just too inviting. We stayed at the South Beach which is the place to be, full of restaurants and bars all along Ocean Drive. Ahh and those palm trees, I couldn’t get enough of them, lined up so perfectly along the drive.  The climate here is warm and you might come across a small shower during the day that will disappear as suddenly as it appeared. Coming from New York I needed a different set of clothes and what I decided to do this time was basically travel with an empty suitcase and do all my shopping in New York, except for taking a few pieces of clothing, just in case. I had planned to meet my friend Alexandra in Miami for a few fun days, so here we are flying in from different locations to meet after two years. As you probably figured it out, here drinking starts from early hours of the day, and I was very eager to try the Mega Margarita with two Bud Light beers turned upside down, and straight into the glass, an experience which I absolutely recommend to those heading to Miami. More cocktails followed after that and finally we made our way to dinner at a great restaurant “A fish called Avalon”. I will be sharing this day in two different post so come back tomorrow for more fun from Miami. Until next time, Welcome to Miami! xoxo ES

Passion for New York by Night

New York by Night is a whole different chapter or perhaps a whole book. This city never seizes to inspire me, whether it is day or night. It is a city where you do not want to miss a thing, every minute you are awake, something is happening. That’s why after I return from there, I need to catch up on my sleep, because while there, sleep is a total waste of time! During my last trip to New York, I didn’t make it to the Top of the Rock as I was experiencing a fear of heights at some point in my life, something that I needed to work on because the view of the city is priceless. I have recorded the trip of going up the 70 floors which I will be sharing soon in my Live Your Passion series, so watch out for that! After the tour of the Top of the Rock the night ended in the one and only Times Square! Unfortunately all great things end at some point, making a way for new beginnings and new experiences! Coming up next Live Your Passion discovers Miami. Until next time, see you in Miami bitch! xoxo ES

Passion for New York Day 3

New York has that magical power to keep you awake, to dream big and to make you want to grasp onto your dreams.  It just keeps on inspiring me! On this wonderful 3rd day in the City, I did a little bit more shopping on 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue. Made my way to the favourite LadurĂ©e house to get myself a nice double-decker macaron treat, they are the best in the world; it’s not a rumor but a fact. Later on stopped at the Nespresso boutique for some champagne and espresso, and in the evening visited the Top of the Rock and Times Square. I will do a separate review of the New York by night, so keep on coming back. Until next time, sweet dreams! xoxo ES

Passion for New York Day 2

This time around, literally I have walked half of New York if not more, but that is the beauty of this city, just enjoying every turn, its people and the atmosphere! Yes I am still very much in love with New York and I think I always will. Some relationships are meant to last a lifetime! First stop of the day, back to shopping as silly me got myself a pair of Alexander Wang killer heels, one size bigger which needed changing, probably all the dizziness from the day before and perhaps a little extra wine while celebrating my birthday. More shopping was necessary, because believe me New York is the place for a shopaholic to shine, so once that was ticked off the list for the day, the night was dedicated to the Metropolitan Opera House and more specifically to Benjamin Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, where the opera , like the play, is set in the “woods outside of Athens”. Benjamin Britten was bound to turn one of the world’s greatest poet-dramatist’s extrusion into the realm of fairy nocturnal fantasy. But Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream also offered him two worlds, human and fairy, real and unreal, mixed together until reality becomes unreality. Until next time, don’t forget to dream! xoxo ES

Passion for New York Day 1

Good morning New York City! My number one favourite city in the world, the place where I dreamed of celebrating my big 30, and so it happened! I arrived in NYC the night before my birthday where we checked in at the Waldorf Astoria which I will review separately later on. I must say this is one of the best hotels that I have stayed in so far, the hotel’s staff was amazing and the service was just impeccable. We had dinner at the Bull and Bear Steakhouse which is excellent!

Waking up on the day of my birthday first thing first was to get the tickets for the Metropolitan Opera House, to watch the Midsummer Night’s Dream on the following day. For brunch we headed down to the Meetpacking District to a place called Pastis which I have been recommended before and finally managed to experience it. It was packed but I definitely recommend this place (promise to share more in a separate blog post).
