Passion for Christmas gifts for Him!

We are just 27 days away from Christmas and I know that some of you are already starting to plan in advance and the thoughts of Christmas gifts start crawling into our minds. I don’t know if it happens to you, but I usually get stressed about what to buy and given my busy schedule I always leave the gift shopping for the very last minute. It also becomes very challenging buying gifts for the special people in your lives, especially those whom you have been buying presents for so many years that new gift ideas are like a breath of fresh air. So I decided to share some of my gift ideas with you, things that are good for any guy either he is your male friend, your “new” boyfriend, the boyfriend, father, brother and the boss. Do share your gift ideas with me, I am sure I have missed something. Will do the same for the ladies so stay tuned. xoxo ES

Passion for Handbags

Happy Monday people and wishing you a great start of the week! Today I would like to share my passion for handbags. One thing you can’t do without is a great handbag. A bag can change the whole look, it can be the statement of your whole outfit. Haven’t you noticed that in some situations when time is not on our side and you are rushing to make it through the day in your busy schedule, and your handbag becomes the solid rock that changes your mood and makes you feel comfortable? I have a real passion for handbags and believe that investing in a good designer bag may be costly at first but in the long run it can turn a simple outfit into something extraordinary. A good handbag can last for years and still look good in the end. Here are some pieces that I would love to add to my collection. Lately I am totally into the skeleton’s look so as you will see I posted two Alexander McQueen clutches lol. Finally I came across the Louis Vuitton Iconic Bag’s video which you can see here and I totally agree that a Speedy is an “Ultimate City Companion”, mine has travelled everywhere with me and it is one the most handy bags in my collection. I would love to know which is your favourite bag, so please share. xoxo ES

Milan Street Style

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! How are you celebrating today? We had a great lunch at the college today which was prepared by our chef students, but since I got down with a flu just after the trip, I am staying in tonight. Here are the photos of the street style which I took and it was quite challenging to get these photos taken so some of them are not of the best quality that I wish they were but still give you an idea of what’s happening at the moment in Milan. No matter what age the Italians always look top notch and they do love their pets as you will see I have captured a few furry friends. Enjoy and until next time. xoxo ES

Lake Como and Fox Town

On Sunday the plan was to visit lake Como and having woken up early in the morning we made our way to the Stazione Centrale to get a train to Como. Milan’s Central station is Italy’s second-largest station and it’s a place where you feel the rush of movement, people coming and going to all different directions, a bustling destination that brings out an excitement making you want to catch the next train and head off to various cities and embark on an exciting journey, a destination unknown. As I sat in the train I began to visualize a train journey around Italy, and the more I thought about it, I welcomed this idea for my future travels. Having recently read Aleph by Paulo Coelho, perhaps triggered this interest to explore a journey on a train in search of the unknown, of the past and the present moment. It was a glorious day in Como and after having enjoyed a couple of hours wondering around and enjoying  the magnificent scenery, the addictions of a shopaholic kicked in again and it was time to cross the border to Switzerland and visit a place called Fox Town in Mendrisio for a few hours of shopping. This was the last day of the trip and the following day we headed back to Athens. In the next post I will be sharing some photos of Milan’s street fashion which was not that easy to take. Until then, enjoy. xoxo ES

Milano and the Versace for H&M Collection

Saturday, November 19, 2011 there I was rushing the streets of Milan at 10 am to get to the H&M store and lay my hands on the Versace Collection. The reason of my trip was not specifically dedicated to adding some collection items to my wardrobe, it was just a matter of consequence but there I was taking this mission very seriously thinking that I would not make it in time before the racks were cleared by the fashionistas who were waiting for this very moment. I realized after reading a few blogs that people did actually wake up at dawn to queue for hours before the opening of the stores. Surprisingly at 10 am I could still find the pieces I wanted. Lucky me! So there I was rushing to the store when by chance I bumped into my two friends from Greece who were also there for a long weekend. Call it destiny or a matter of chance we saw each other three times in total in different places of the city on that same day. After spending the day wondering the streets and enjoying the glamour of the most fashionable city in the world and its beautiful boutiques, the afternoon was spent sitting across the Duomo sipping fine red wine. Before this relaxing moment a highlight of the day was visiting the Chanel boutique. For me it is the most elegant, captivating and historical brand of all times. It is the epitome of pure elegance. I am like a kid in a candy store whenever I enter this boutique and luckily I have a generous mother who can spoil me once in a while. In the evening we dined at the Officina 12 restaurant which is known to be a unique place in Milan which offers a rich selection of traditional and regional dishes. The pizza was delicious and the wine list definitely worth mentioning.  Next stop visit to the Como lake and crossing the border to Switzerland. xoxo ES
